HCTP offers the following classes:
Mini Robot Ozobot
Class Description:
Unlock your child's creativity and problem-solving skills through coding! In this engaging and interactive class, young learners will dive into the exciting world of programming using Ozobot robots. By creating paths with colorful markers or magnets, students will explore how to control and program their Ozobots with color-coded sequences. Through hands-on activities, they'll discover how Ozobots follow tracks and respond to different color codes, making learning both fun and educational!
For Grades 1-3.
Python Coding Certification
Class Description:
Master Python and Earn Your Certification!
Join our Python Coding Certification Class to master one of the most versatile and sought-after programming languages and earn your certification!
• What You’ll Learn: Python fundamentals - variable, basic I/O, operators, loops (for, while), data types(list, tuple, dictionary, set), function, data processing and exceptions
• Certification Benefits: Get ready for industry-recognized Python certifications, which could even allow you to skip a programming class at your school. Additionally, you can start preparing for competitive coding exams like ACSL or USACO.

For Grades 9 & Up.
Build Smart Home - Arduino Adventures
Class Description:
Explore the future of technology by creating and programming your own Smart Home! In this immersive 8-week course, students will construct a mini model smart home using wooden boards, learn C programming with the Arduino IDE (a coding platform), and integrate real sensors and outputs to control the house via a phone app. Students will tackle exciting automation projects, such as adjusting lighting based on brightness or implementing smart security features to detect movement and send alerts. Get ready for a hands-on journey into the world of smart technology!
For Grades 6-12.
Dates:
Mini Robot Ozobot: March 2 - April 13 (6 Sundays)
Python Coding Certification: March 2 - June 1 (12 classes, 14 Sundays with Easter and Memorial Day weekends off)
Build Smart Home - Arduino Adventures: March 23 - May 18 (8 classes, 9 Sundays with Memorial Day weekend off)

Cost:
Free, with a refundable deposit of $100 (Deposit is due on the first day of the class (Sunday, March 2 or 23 depending on the class) and it will be refunded at the last class ONLY IF the child attends at least 80% of classes (5 of 6, 6 of 8, or 10 of 12 classes). For Mini Robot Ozobot and Build Smart Home classes, children will be required to bring a necessary devise or kit. Details are provided in the application form.
